WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Operations Engineer ( Linux and Kubernetes) – Space Mission Join our client’s team in Rome as a Operations Engineer ( Linux and Kubernetes) – space mission.
With over 30 years of experience, our client is a trusted partner of European governments and international organizations, specializing in IT and space services, providing operational and engineering support for Earth observation missions, data processing, and applied research. YOUR TASKS Oversee real-time monitoring and operation of ESA missions to ensure integrity and performance.
Diagnose, resolve, and prevent operational issues to minimize downtime.
Analyse system performance, identify improvements, and optimize processes.
Develop scripts to automate tasks and enhance efficiency.
Assist with new projects, software changes, and system integrations.
Maintain clear operational procedures and technical documentation.
Perform routine application maintenance for optimal system performance. YOUR SKILLS Proficient in Linux Proficient in Shell Scripting ( Linux) Proficient in Docker and Kubernetes technologies Knowledge of storage solutions and cloud technologies Expertise in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process optimization.
Fundamental understanding of networking concepts Experience in requirements analysis, project planning, and reporting. Excellent command of the English language (B2 or higher) Ability to explain complex technical concepts. NICE TO HAVE Basic knowledge of Grafana, Kibana, and Elasticsearch platforms Basic knowledge of HTML and XML Basic knowledge of Apache and Tomcat servers Basic knowledge of Python programming Basic knowledge of OpenLDAP Basic knowledge of MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL, and Elasticsearch Knowledge of the ESA Environment Knowledge of Satellite product standards Experience in monitoring and operating satellite missions PERSONAL SKILLS Proactive approach to problem identification and resolution Team-player spirit Ability to work in an international environment EXTRA INFORMATION Work location: Rome Work mode: Hybrid, 2 days on-site per week and the rest from home Great career opportunity in the Space industry Corporate Benefits Package Company events Please note that, due to the sensitive nature of the data involved, this position is currently available only to individuals who meet the following criteria: EU Citizens Non-EU Citizens already based in EU with a valid work permit Once we receive your CV, we will take time to evaluate it carefully.
