To this end, extensive research will be conducted on the latest technologies and methodologies in the field of alkaline electrolysis.
A fundamental aspect of this research will be the optimization of space occupied and yield in the production of hydrogen for industrial processes.
Different operational scenarios and plant configurations will be considered in order to identify the most efficient and scalable solution. Planned activities Activities include the defining the control strategy for the alkaline electrolyzer.
Different control loops will be identified and implemented through the Modelica language, using PID ( Proportional- Integrative- Derivative) architectures.
These control loops will be designed to ensure optimal system operation, maximizing efficiency, renewable energy absorption and minimizing system energy consumption.
The research activity will be supported by the use of a dynamic simulation tool in Modelica language.
This tool will be used to create all the components of the BoP and to implement the different PID architectures for the control loops identified in the control strategy definition and in the Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID).
Through this master's thesis, we aim not only to provide a detailed overview of the most innovative technologies and methodologies in the field of alkaline electrolysis, but also to propose practical and optimized solutions for the integration of these technologies into industrial processes.
