Join us in redefining the boundaries of what’s possible Your role We are looking for a Senior CNC programmer who will join our automation team, in Agordo.
In this role, you will program, set up, and operate CNC machinery to produce high-precision optical lenses and frame parts.
You will collaborate with engineers and production staff to ensure that pieces are manufactured to exact specifications, meeting both quality standards and production deadlines.
Your experience with CNC programming and understanding of optical manufacturing processes will be essential to the success.
Main responsibilities: CNC Programming: Develop, test, and modify CNC programs for lens and frame manufacturing machinery, including milling and turning machines.
Develop Simulation Environment: Develop a virtual environment to ensure virtual commissioning of the machine and/or recreate CNC errors that appeared during the process.
Machine Setup and Operation: Set up CNC machines according to job specifications, ensuring proper alignment and calibration for precision lens production.
Tooling and Fixtures: Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, parameters, and materials for each production run, maintaining adherence to quality standards and minimizing waste.
Quality Assurance: Inspect and measure workpieces during and after production to ensure they meet cosmetic and shape quality standards, using precision measuring instruments.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Identify and troubleshoot issues with CNC machines, making adjustments as needed to maintain production quality and efficiency.
Continuous Improvement: Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve CNC programming processes, enhance production speed, and reduce waste.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of CNC programs, machine settings, and production data for future reference and continuous improvement.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations, promoting a safe work environment by following best practices and maintaining clean work areas.
Main requirements: 1.
Education: Associate’s degree or technical certification in CNC machining, mechanical engineering, optics, or a related field. 2.
Experience: . 5 years of experience as a CNC Programmer, preferably within an optical environment. . 5 years of experience with multi-axis CNC machines for complex machining geometries. 3.
Technical Skills: .
Proficiency in CNC programming software (e. g. , MasterCAM, G- Code). .
Familiarity with lens manufacturing equipment and precision machining techniques. .
Strong understanding of optical tolerances and surface quality requirements. 4.
Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose issues with machine settings or programming. 5.
Communication: Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with production, quality control, and engineering departments. 6.
PLC expertise: Siemens, B&R 7.
Mechanical/ Electrical/ Software Skills for CNC programming.
