ROLE SUMMARY: Inspired Group is seeking to appoint an experienced Diploma Programme Coordinator to support inquiry based learning at the International School of Siena, Italy in August 2024.
Applicants must have experience of teaching within the IBDP, have a strong background in IB teaching and learning and DP assessment strategies.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic teacher-leader with experience of enabling students and teachers to achieve their potential.
We are looking for experience, enthusiasm and a passion for teaching and teacher training, to inspire our students with a love of learning and to lead our teachers in the development of IB pedagogical teaching methodologies.
They need to be a team player that can work within a small but busy school, collaborating with teachers to support the development of a rigorous inquiry based curriculum with strong assessment practices.
This is a 40% release role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Promote a positive school community through the IS Siena Positive Behaviour Policy and pastoral programme.
Lead DP teaching and learning for Grades 12–13.
Coordinate and support student preparation for internal and external exams.
Oversee the implementation of CAS, TOK, and the Extended Essay.
Assist the librarian and LS teams with teacher training and individual student support.
Collaborate with PYP and MYP Coordinators to ensure a seamless KG–13 curriculum.
Work with Programme Coordinators and the University Counsellor to guide effective pathways for students.
Contribute to school development by engaging in professional development initiatives.
Offer an extracurricular activity that enhances the current offerings.
IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: A university degree in a related subject and a relevant teaching qualification.
Recent successful teaching experience within the DP.
Membership in the IB Educators Network (e. g. , workshop leader, examiner, or evaluator).
Passion for learning and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
Knowledge of DP assessment, CAT4 testing, and data tracking (desirable).
Expertise in IB pedagogy and experience with inquiry and concept-based learning.
Strong understanding of personalised learning and the challenges of pre- University education.
Commitment to a long-term role, with an initial 12-month contract and potential for permanency.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have Qualified Teacher Status and either an EU passport or a valid visa to work in Italy.
