The incumbent analyzes information using automated maintenance management systems, such as PAVER and BUILDER, concerning the condition of components, systems, and equipment.
Identifies deficiencies and recommends maintenance and repair work for consideration in programming and budgeting plans.
Assesses maintenance and repair alternatives and determines the most suitable recommendation for work accomplishment.
Develops recommended maintenance and repair procedures, new equipment proposals, life cycle, and replacement plans, as well as, general project information to be submitted for consideration as part of the maintenance and repair program.
The technician develops the initial scope of work, and budgetary cost estimates for individual maintenance, repair, and minor construction projects.
Reviews scopes of work and resolves discrepancy problems.
Determines the work classification associated with projects for recommending approval/disapproval of projects.
Reviews job order requests for compliance with regulatory requirements, feasibility, adequacy, and Directorate of Public Works mission.
Interfaces with customers regarding project work request processing, approval, and status.
Reviews, monitors and analyzes construction, installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair project work requests to make recommendations concerning validity, funding requirements, and priorities for integration into overall work plans.
The incumbent determines the most appropriate method of accomplishment for requested work.
Meets with supported customers regularly to assess their project priorities for the current fiscal year and the out years.
Reviews and monitors the progress of customer projects and communicates the status of project execution plans.
Prepares written and statistical reports, presents briefings, and provides technical advice concerning the construction, maintenance, and repair mission.
Participates and makes decisions regarding workflow management at weekly work request coordination meetings.
Recurring Individual Job Orders , for O M shops, preparing and distributing detailed phases of work and Bills of Materials for non- stock items for the maintenance and operation of utility systems, Building and Grounds, Boiler Plant, Water Plant and Entomology Services.
Prepares reports and analyzes data from past years S.

O. to adjust such factors as man-hours, use, and quantity of materials.
Adjustments are based on data analysis, practical experience, on-site inspections with input from O M Supervisors and Foremen.
Assists management with the on-going analysis and control of funds by monitoring the annual Resource Management Plan facilities engineering actions.
Conducts various inspections of facilities, facility systems, and utilities, including Installation Status Report – Infrastructure, non-fair wear and tear occurrences, Facility Sustainment Model evaluations, and special facility-condition based inspections.
Documents condition, develops repair and construction work requirements, budgetary estimates, and prepares reports presenting results of inspections.
Assists with management internal controls program, and organizational inspection program inspections and audits.
Coordinates and performs technical design reviews for all projects developed for GPC execution.
Reviews design analyses, plans and technical specifications for design projects submitted under contract not exceeding $25,000.
Examines accuracy and adequacy, ensures compliance with applicable criteria and accepted design and construction practices and ensures economic feasibility of designs.
Provides recommendations to the customer(s) modifications for the work requested in a way to adjust the work to suit necessary rules and regulations and also to optimize costs and final result of the project.
If modification to the project is required after the issuance of a delivery order, prepares the designs consisting of a clear and complete technical description of the work to be accomplished, i. e. , provide sizes of equipment, single line sketch to show sizes, shapes, capacity, layout, important information, etc. , and recommends methods, procedures, criteria to be followed and/or performs technical review and approves short form contract. recommendations of design changes on projects.
Documentation includes, Scope of Work Breakdown , Cost Estimate or Independent Government Estimates, Bill of Material, GFEBS Job Tickets and related forms.
Provides plans, answers queries, and other related information concerning the project assigned.
Ensures completeness and accuracy of engineering packages.
Monitors and documents status of work progress.
Maintains in file copies of the complete project and all information, sketches, forms and correspondence.
NOTE: Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 08. 00 to 17. 00, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.

S Office of Personnel Management, as summarized below.
EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the U-03 grade level.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Education may be substituted for experience in accordance with the " General Schedule Qualification Standards" published by U.
S Office of Personnel Management.
