The Transport Manager will belong to the Transport Outbound team in the Mediterranean Region ( South and East Europe, Middle East, and Africa).
The department has the responsibility to get oversized, heavy-lift, and general transport components in time and on budget onto our new construction sites within the region.
Responsibilities The Transport Manager will be in charge of managing a team overseeing all transport-related activities.
Guide, train, and develop the team of transport coordinators/specialists (from 5 to 7 people).
Act as an ambassador to promote safety and quality ownership within the team.
Define transport strategy for the area of responsibility in coordination with the relevant stakeholders ( Safety, Quality, Customer Project Execution, Global Vessel team, Procurement).
Facilitate the necessary alignment between the team and the stakeholders.
Align with the transport bidding team to ensure prioritization on tenders and technical evaluation.
Identify risks and develop action plans for mitigation.
Facilitate a portfolio management approach (anticipate risks, financial management, and planning).
Propose and develop continuous improvement actions (in terms of process, working methods).
Qualifications University level degree in Engineering or Technical or Commercial fields.
At least 5 years of experience in management within the transport area.
Experience in Project Management and project P&L follow-up within the logistics area is favorable.
Experience in a large international company is beneficial.
Languages: English and Italian.
Romanian would be beneficial for the department.
Direction: able to guide and encourage the team in reaching organizational goals.
Effective communication: able to clearly communicate targets and report risks.
Versatility: ability to handle new information and situations.
