Purpose of the Job Together with the other member of the team, to analyze the input needs (external or internal) and requirements, design the solution by re-using existing solutions or by developing a new solution or adapting an existing one (program context) To formalize and maintain the system specifications at operational ( SyOCD), functional ( SyRS) and constructional ( SyAD) level.
End-to-end ownership of design solutions, from supporting V&V team in definition of acceptance criterias to follow-up with Software Team to verify matching of system and software design.
Foster and support improvements and evolutions of Alstom ICONIS TMS Educational Requirements Educated to University Degree level in Information Technology, Computing Science, Electronics, Engineering.
System Engineering Certification is a plus Specific domain knowledge in railway signalling and mainline railway systems, especially appreciated is experience in TMS/CTC area Alstom internal Training Advanced System Architect Program (ASAP) Knowledge of CENELEC EN50128-2011 European norm Technical Knowledge / Experience Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and SysML knowledge Software engineering with 2 or more years of working experience in the last 10 years.
Requirement management, writing and tracability (using DOORS) Ability to understand and estimate performance impact of different design choices Awareness of safety-related design choiches and and RAM compliance Awareness of cybersecurity-related design choiches English language fluency is mandatory, French is a plus Behavioural and Technical Skills / Competencies Eager to Learn Continuously and authonomously Very keen to read and write documents, even for pre-existing matters Feel confortable working with complex systems in a dynamically variable environment.
Team working oriented and a bility to interact transversally with Engineering teams .
Capability in defining system activities planning, project and product oriented.
Demonstrate Honesty and Integrity Foster Open Dialogue and Open Listener Availability to job trips in Italy and abroad Responsibilities Member of the project/program engineering team Applies process, methods and tools as referenced by the program plans In collaboration with the System Architects and under the control of the System Engineering Manager he contributes to the system design and specification according to the development strategy established in the System Engineering Management Plan For the system design he/she: Analyzes, clarifies and confirms input requirements and needs Performs conceptual design by preparing system models, design studies, design rationales, design principles, real time analysis, modelling & mock-ups,. . for technical de-risking and optimization Define esternal and internal interfaces of system sub-components Partners with RAM, safety, cybersecurity, sub-system, software, product, and V&V teams to develop design concepts and definitions Calls , conducts, and participates to technical reviews (design reviews, document reviews) including consultation to end-users, experts, and CCN according to specific needs and domains competencies relevance For the system specification (system formalization) he/she: Elaborates formal modelling and requirements writing according to design standard and guidelines Formalizes and maintains the system specification (OCD, RS, AD, ID, PD) according to applicable templates content, Partners with RAM, safety, cybersecurity, sub-system, software, product, and V&V of the program to ensure specifications completeness and acceptance Coordinates with program team members to implement design and work through design revisions Ensures traceability through-out the formal documentation, up to the input needs (input specifications, CR) Ensures verifications (document reviews, peer reviews) of system specifications Put work products under configuration management On request, supports the System Application Architect for projects and tenders (evolutions & anomalies analysis, documentation support) Prepares of program/project documents (e. g. training material, user manuals, . . ) he/she is in charge Participates to the material selection and procurement activities as required for the system delivery Sustains the system according to Change Requests (evolutions and anomalies) Keeps informed of the evolution of technologies through technological watch Contributes to continuous improvement ( RoE: Return on Experience, process, …) Contributes to workload estimations for the deliverables of his scope Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
The position can be based in Rome or Bologna. (1) Traffic Management System: a set of tsoftwares, tools and interfaces providing advanced features for railway traffic automation and regulation.
It is the main Traffic Control Centre subsystem and can be scope of standalone project or platform level contract.
