The responsibilities of a Product Manager within the fashion and retail industry include: Gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements for the fashion/retail company.
Defining the product vision of the fashion brand.
Working closely with engineering, sales marketing, and design to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Ensuring proper data entry into our product line management systems.
Maintaining constant communication with external and internal cross-functional teams involved in product creation, merchandising, and league approval process.
Ordering raw materials directly from manufacturers for prototypes and samples.
Handing off all ranges of products to Production.
Collaborating with designers to develop each category from initial concept through to finished product.
Providing information and resolving problems that arise during and after the development of the collection.
Working with all manufacturers to calculate costs for prototypes, samples, and production prices for each piece of the collection.
Responding to margin requirements and being aware of costs at wholesale and retail when developing.
Ensuring all sample deliveries are on time to showrooms prior to sales presentation.
Implementing development critical path with manufacturers, ensuring prototype deadlines are adhered to.
After a 6-month stage, if proven capabilities, determination, and passion for the job are demonstrated, a contract will be offered to be part of the TEAM.
The role involves translating design ideas and concepts into reality, ensuring that a collection responds to style and meets production standards, selling prices, delivery dates, and points of sale.
