What will you be doing? Industrial Designers in frog are responsible for the design of physical products and touchpoints, considering usability, look and feel, and manufacturing.
They define product architecture and features, physical workflows and user experience, design language &aesthetics, colours &materials, and inform product technologies.
They work closely with mechanical engineers, strategists, researchers, and other design disciplines to shape ‘convergent experiences’ in the space where physical, digital, and service systems collide.
As an Industrial Designer Intern, you are expected to actively participate in industrial design activities, and deliver outcomes that supports the project team, in the context of interdisciplinary projects.
You will be involved in client presentation within your domain, providing articulated recommendations and helping guide client choices.
Your fellow frogs will rely on you to: Demonstrate a strong fluency in Ideate, conceptualise and visualise physical product designs and physical interactions using sketching, 3D CAD and renderings, hand-built physical mock-ups and 3D prints Generate product design languages and aesthetic directions that can make the product iconic, unique, and recognisable, but most importantly speak to brand values Thoughtful User Centered Design approach that considers the unmet needs of the end users.
On a typical project you will: Work within a multidisciplinary team of mechanical engineers, strategists, UX/UI designers and technologists to conceive intelligent product experiences and build new value propositions Support design research focussed on product use and experience Analyse and test product usability, ergonomics, and workflow across physical and digital touchpoints Visualize user experience scenarios and journeys integrating physical, digital and service interactions, sketching use cases and hero moments Explore and develop aesthetic directions for individual products and for product systems Explore and develop ideas and concepts with 3D CAD, product renderings, hand-built volumetric mock-ups, and 3D prints Explore CMF (colour, materials, and finishes) with samples and renderings We want you to have: Recently completed, or will complete within 1 year, a university degree in Industrial Design or related discipline.
An inspiring design portfolio with high visual quality and strong conceptual thinking Well-developed core product design skills demonstrated in your portfolio of recent work.
Proficiency with contemporary design tools and methods (CAD tools preferred: Fusion 360, Blender, Rhino, keyshot) Strong passion for sustainability in product design that minimises impacts on the environment, and encourages new and more sustainable behaviour Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
Willingness to quickly learn and grow your design skills on the job.
Confident verbal and visual presentation and storytelling abilities Affinity with frog’s values, and a passion for creating products that meet peoples’ functional and emotional needs.
Business level ability in English ( Italian language not mandatory).
It would be a bonus if you had: Experience with 3D animation and video editing Experience with generative AI tool applied to product design Experience working in a variety of organizations (start-up, corporate, agency/consultancy).
Academic, professional, or life experience from outside the design field that enriches your perspective as a designer.
A second language (and every additional language is a plus!).
