Hauptaufgaben
Incumbent performs initial, in processing and final inspections on a great variety of tactical equipment and heavy wheeled vehicles, subject to minor or major repairs, modification, rebuild, overhaul and repair of major components and combat equipment, including power generation and heating and cooling equipment. Performs inspections on repair work done by others. Inspects the functioning and interaction of power and motion elements, electrical, electronically, cooling, high-pressure hydraulic and suspension systems, instruments and condition of body and chassis. Diagnoses cause and extent of mechanical, electrical, and material defects. Estimates requirements and cost for man-hours and material. In case of damages other than fair, wear and tear requests preparation of report of survey or statement of charges. Prepares the list of spare parts to be ordered. Classifies inspected equipment as to economically or uneconomically repairable. Inspects technical adequacy of completed repair work; makes final road tests. Renders explanation on maintenance procedures to pertinent personnel of permanent and/or frequently changing temporarily assigned organizations. After completion of final inspection, signs inspection reports certifying that equipment is in satisfactory operating condition or rejects the equipment and returns same to repair shop along with specific reports prescribing additional repair, which is required to bring equipment up to a satisfactory operating condition. Retains all technical documentation required by regulatory guidelines. Incumbent provides technical assistance to all supported units as required/requested on all types of combat vehicles. Documents all assistance provided and reports to the Chief and Supervisor on equipment weaknesses/shortfalls observed. Actively collaborates with the workshop to meet technical support needs, contributing to the achievement of the mission's objectives: troubleshooting, maintaining and making repairs to all systems of such heavy tactical mobile equipment. Serves as POC for customer complaints pertaining to quality matters occurred after repair and issue of refurbished equipment by the Maintenance Support Team Italy.
NOTE: Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 08. 00 to 17. 00, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.
Qualifikationsanforderungen
Applicants must meet the qualification requirements in the Qualification Standards Handbook as summarized below.
1. ABILITY TO INSPECT;
2. KNOWLEDGE OF EQUIPMENT ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION, REPAIR;
3. TECHNICAL PRACTICES;
4. USE OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS;
5. ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, INCLUDING BLUEPRINT READING;
6. ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT;
7. TROUBLESHOOTING.
NOTE: Incumbent is required to understand, read, write, and speak English fluently in order to read and understand established safety inspection standards and communicate with customers.
Knowledge of hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic controls. is required.
