Hauptaufgaben Incumbent troubleshoots, maintains, and makes repairs to all systems of such heavy mobile equipment and vehicles as hydraulically operated mobile surface platforms, cranes, road graders, bulldozers, power shovels, fire trucks, wreckers, fuel dispensing trucks, and heavy-duty dump trucks and forklifts.
Using tools and devices of various types and sizes of screwdrivers; pliers; pullers; socket, torque, and other types of wrenches; grinds; and similar tools of the trade, makes major repairs to all systems (diesel and gasoline engines, automatic and manual transmissions, heavy duty drive line systems, and hydraulic utility systems and controls).
Disassembles, repairs (e. g. , fits and installs pistons, rods, and rings; grinds valves; replaces bearings, cylinders, voltage regulators, generators), and reassembles engines.
Disassembles and replaces or adjusts component parts (e. g. , gears, clutches, bolts, seals, gaskets) of transmission, drive line, and differential systems.
Repairs hydraulic systems by replacing or adjusting valves, gears and pistons, Removes and replaces complete electronic ignition assemblies as required.
Aligns, meshes, and corrects repaired units to related mechanisms and makes adjustments as needed.
Performs less complex repair and maintenance on the types of equipment identified above.
Removes and reinstalls such readily accessible parts as belts, hoses, clamps, filters, fuel pumps and lines, springs, shock absorbers, spark plugs, wheel cylinders, mufflers, brake and axle assemblies, steering assemblies, carburetors, and the like.
Adjusts distributors, gaps spark plugs, sets engine idle and timing, and makes similar adjustments.
Troubleshoots, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to commercial and domestic kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, refrigeration and air conditioning mobile units, walk-in and reach-in coolers, refrigerators, ice-cream cabinets, deep freezers, evaporative coolers, electrical components and the like.
Examines units to determine malfunctions, disassembles units, replaces parts and components, reassembles, adjusts, and tests appliances.
Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs items (e. g. , fans, buffers, meat slicers) which function by electro-mechanical means.
Disassembles and replaces such component parts as gears, pullies, and electric motors, ensuring proper mesh and fit.
Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs small engines used to power lawn mowers, power saws, air compressors, and similar items of equipment.
He/she repairs bicycles.
Removes and replaces such components as wheels, braking mechanisms, chains, spools, spokes, tires, seats and the like.
Operates a forklift to move, stack, unstack, load and unload materials.
NOTE: Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 08. 00 to 17. 00, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.

ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT;   6.
TROUBLE SHOOTING.   HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED: In order to qualify for this position, your application must provide sufficient experience to meet the requirements of the position.
