The unit is responsible of the design, development and qualification/certification activities related to the Display Systems ( Cockpit Display Systems, Helmet Mounted Display, Control Display Unit) of Leonardo Helicopters programs (both civil and military), specifically for the Sub Systems with internal development of the software application in charge of the Human Machine Interface.
Sub- System Engineers interface Avionics System Engineer functional areas for all the aspects pertaining the integration of the display system and its application in the helicopter avionic system, and collaborate with Avionics System Engineer and HMI Simulation area for the definition of Leonardo Helicopter HMI.
Other external areas interfaced include Program Management, CPE offices, Flight Test Pilots and Engineers, Procurement and RMS departments.
Activities and responsibilities of the role include:- understanding the clients’ needs and expected outcome- collaborating with the development team to identify design solutions in line with expectations and with project guidelines (plans, standards, technical and schedule constraints, budget)- support the avionics system architecture definition and integration- contributing to Leonardo HMI definition- contributing and coordinating the activities necessary to develop and qualify the software application in all its development phases (requirements definition, architectural and detailed design, coding and integration, validation and verification, design reviews and qualification/certification audits)- interfacing and managing suppliers for activities' offload and for the displays platform procurement- coordinating and leading the SW development team- monitoring and managing the project in terms of schedule, costs and resources- degree in a technical field (e. g.
Computer Science, Electronic, Electric, Telecommunication or Automation Engineering; Aerospace/ Aeronautical Engineering)- knowledge of Real Time Safety Critical Embedded SW development aspects- good knowledge of spoken and written English- strong problem solving capabilities and proactive customer satisfaction approach- team working and leading in a cross-functional and geographical team- project management skills- inclination to work in line with standards, rules and objectives- thorough understanding of the entire software development life-cycle- interest in Human Machine Interface (HMI) aspects- SW design and development methodologies ( Model Based design, Matlab/ Simulink modeling and testing)- knowledge of C/C++ programming languages Seniority:
