Data Center Engineering Operations Chief Engineer, DCEO AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
We support all AWS data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

Amazon is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team in the Greater Milan Area.
This group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services, ensuring that the data center's MEP operates at 100% availability while providing first-class customer service.
The Data Center Chief Engineer (CE) is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center operates at peak efficiency.
This includes planned preventative maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response to issues.
The CE serves as a technical resource interacting with onsite Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) and third-party vendors.
Key responsibilities include: Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in data centers.
Operate independently with limited direct management.
Assist in the design and build out of new facilities.
Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the data center region.
Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
Troubleshoot and report facility and data server-level events.
Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians and vendor support teams.
Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians.
Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff.
Utilize internal Change Management Systems to manage building workflows.
Provide metric availability reporting on a weekly basis.
Competencies: Ability to solve problems at their root.
Aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
Ability to maintain SL As through proactive issue detection.
Proven experience reading SL Ds and control schematics.
Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements: Work at heights and from ladders.
Perform physical tasks.
Work in a noisy environment with ear protection.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Strong working knowledge of Data Center infrastructure.
Full EU driving license and advanced level of English.
Experience in operations and on-call support for Data Center facilities.
Project Management experience.
