Your impact The Construction Manager reports to the Jacobs Project Director or the Project manager and has full authority for the execution of the construction operations at the jobsite.
The Construction Manager is the primary interface of all contractors and vendors relating to the construction of the facility.
The Construction Manager keep high the focus on the project delivery.
Improving safety and quality, working with HSE and Quality manager, defining strategy and driving the construction team on site.
Expedite the site in order to identify any weak and critical area and develop a proper improvement plan in order to keep high level in safety, quality, control and team building with all the team on site and the colleagues in the office, managing and supporting all the activities listed below.Scope of responsibilities:Become a promoter of initiatives and of programs regarding to the health and safety in the workplace, collaborating closely with the Jacobs HSE manager to minimize the risk of incidents to things or people on the construction sites, according to the principles and the ethics of Jacobs;Collaborate with the Quality JI Department and representative on site in the development and verification of specific procedures for the CM Department;Actively participate in the periodical Operational Project Reviews (OPR) and in all the project review session on the project;Verify and develop the “Pre-construction Planning” activities on the projects during the different phase of the project development in order to provide all the information for the site logistic and reviews as necessary the Construction Execution Plan that reflects the full construction scope and approach;Prepare all the necessary constructability reviews of the scope of work and early identification of problems, conflicts, interferences and other impediments;Support the PMs and the Project Schedulers in the development of general and detailed project schedule;Manage the personnel assigned to the construction sites in accordance with the HRE Discipline;Monitoring and expediting the performance of the site team and analyze any signals of problems coming from construction sites attributable to technical or management deficiencies, identify possible preventive or corrective actions and promote their implementation, involving, where necessary, the designated company functions;Supervise and manage all aspects of field and construction operations including field services personnel and contractors, providing overall direction and guidance (leadership) of all construction activities;Ensure timely completion of all critical construction activities;Ensure that all field services personnel assigned to the project are trained in and compliant with the appropriate field services procedures and job description;Cooperate with the Cost Engineer providing the necessary information for periodic updating of the TIC report (both committed cost and forecast);Administrate changes to the contract scope of work supported by the assigned Discipline Site Supervisors and Subcontract Administrator;Prompt resolution of Requests for Information, with the assigned Project Engineering or other person;Assure, through the field site personnel, the contractors work is in compliance with the project technical requirements;Verify, through the field site personnel, contractors’ compliance with the ‘as-built’ requirements of the project;Perform, through the field site personnel, all M/C punch list activities to ensure the installation meets the requirements.
Support turnover by coordinating contractor support of Commissioning Manager;Lead the site weekly/daily coordination meetings;Attend to safety coordination meetings with contractors;Participate in implementing field inspection and testing plan;Provide final check of Field Variation Orders (extra works).
Here's what you'll need 10+ years of experience as a field Construction Manager (knowledge of Pharmaceutical or Chemical projects is preferable);Strong knowledge across all project disciplines will be required;Safety Management/Supervisor certification will be seen as an advantage;Ability to evaluate criticality in a project in order to evaluate the right construction strategy;Ability to manage a constructability review with Client and Contractors;Ability to run complex meetings with multiple constituents and follow-up on deliverables;Proficient computer skills (Office tools, 3D navigator – as Navisworks, schedule software – e.g. project);Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills;Experience with systems mechanical completion, testing and commissioning;Fluency in Italian and English.Please submit your resume in English.We know that if we are inclusive, we’re more connected, and if we are diverse, we’re more creative.
