Hauptaufgaben
Incumbent leads a group, no more than five, automotive mechanics engaged in maintenance and repair of vehicles. Works alongside other mechanics, setting the pace and demonstrating safe, proper work standards. Observes work in progress to assure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed, as well as, compliance with prescribed repair procedures. Reports daily accomplishments to supervisor and receives instructions concerning changes in work projects, priorities and requirements. Assists in the completion of necessary Army Maintenance Management forms for PMCS, Services, and Repair verifications as provided by the Lead Foreman. Performs a variety of assignments in connection with the maintenance and repair of commercial and tactical automobiles, trucks, trailers, and similar types of specialized machinery. Repairs components and assemblies, such as bodies, engines, transmissions and differentials, carburetors, radiators, steering and braking assemblies, and fuel systems by replacing, cleaning, or repairing defective parts. Accomplishes work in accordance with established production or maintenance plans and quality requirements. Uses tools, materials, and test equipment in a safe and economical manner. Incumbent operates a forklift.
NOTE: Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8. 00 to 17. 00, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.
Qualifikationsanforderungen
Applicants must meet the qualification requirements in the Qualification Standards Handbook as summarized below:
1. ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE;
2. KNOWLEDGE OF EQUIPMENT ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION, REPAIR, ETC;
3. TECHNICAL PRACTICES (THEORETICAL, PRECISE, ARTISTIC);
4. USE OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS;
5. ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC. (INCLUDES BLUEPRINTING
READING);
6. ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT;
7. TROUBLE SHOOTING.
NOTE: Basic knowledge of the English language is desirable.
HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED: In order to qualify for this position, your application must provide sufficient experience to meet the requirements of the position. You will be rated based on the experience described on your application.
